Can you believe we have almost been home a year???? I can't. Where does all the time go. The kids are doing great. Max is in kindergarten and
AJ and Olivia are in preschool twice a week. It is amazing how fast they are learning. The potty thing finally clicked with
AJ in July but the last 3 weeks he has been having accidents almost everyday. What is up with that???? Olivia is a our handful most of the time. I am hoping that we are going through the trying times with her right now and her teen years will be a breeze. That's how it works right (ha, ha). Max is playing soccer and is really looking forward to going duck hunting with Papa. I have to be honest though, this mom thing is tough. These guys really wear me out. I feel like a police officer all the time. Does that ever change or at least get better? Eric is doing great. The new funeral home is now open and is absolutely beautiful. Hopefully it will not be another four months before I post again.

So glad to get an update! The mom thing IS hard and exhausting. Make sure to set aside some ME-time for yourself on occasion so you don't get worn out! The new photo in the header is beautiful!!
Hey, I've been waiting for an update from your family!! I've been wondering how YOU are doing, since I have been feeling so overwhelmed, still! But your kiddos are younger and may not have as much habitual disobedience patterns to overcome as my older ones. But I've thought of you so often.
Like Barb said the picture is beautiful of your family!
I love the photo! It is great! The kids look so happy!
Regarding the police thing... yep, that is how we feel with our boys. It is exhausting but worth it when I see how far they have come.
Blessings to you.

That is an adorable picture!! I just love it.
OMG... you guys looks great! The kids look so happy. I year is just a few months away. I can say that things do get better, but what do I know, I only have one you have 3. Maybe a day at the spa would be nice.

What a beautiful family picture at the top of your blog. The children are precious!! So glad they are doing well and yes, being a police mom is part of my job description too. Life would be easier if they would all just get along :o)
Hey guys! This picture is great. We were just talking about our trip to St. Louis the other day. We are already looking forward to the next one so we can see the Pitmans!
Beautiful family picture! I found your blog one day and have been waiting for an update. Check out beyond consequences. It is a program for kids with traumatic beginningswritten by Heather Forbes. It made my life so much better.
The accidents are from new stress in his life. It can be something really little.
Good luck - Nancy
I have fostered, rather than adopted (I have three bio kids).I have found that some level of reactive attachment disorder usually surfaces in the end, however sunshiny things are at the beginning. It is not the end of the world, but it is the root of sometimes persistent difficult behaviours. Children who are challenged to attach are greedy for lots and lots of attention, and they have difficulty empathizing. While most young children don't understand that mummy's tired, RAD children don't care, because they are not able to. I encourage you find a specialist in the attachment disorders of children and talk to them yourself. It will give you perspective and ideas and some peace about issues you may meet along the way.
